In a wrongful incarceration case, the economist typically works side-by-side with the retained vocational expert to determine the pre-incident career path the plaintiff would have most likely had but for the wrongful incarceration.  We then use actual historical economic earnings data to calculate the value of past losses including prejudgment interest.
